Brief Description
What is your vision of 2030 for young people and HIV and AIDS?. This fueled the courage to tackle challenging issues that affect the adolescents; creativity to express their ideas and solutions into projects; and compassion to advocate for HIV and AIDS awareness, prevention, and control for and with their peers. 32 youth organizations met this challenge, and 6 teams comprised of 23 adolescents stood out from the rest, and successfully engaged and implemented their projects in the 6 communities from Luzon (Isabela City and Oriental Mindoro), Visayas (Aklan and Capiz), and Mindanao (General Santos City and Lanao Del Norte) together with 247 volunteers ranging from adolescents to duty-bearers who guided them in their journey. This adolescent network sparked interest to drive 59 organizations and SK Councils in forging collaborations towards healthier, HIV-free communities. This accumulated to a ripple impact that directly reached 451, 428 people and indirectly reached 2, 968, 710. Through the establishment of 1 adolescent-led organization, the National Young Heroes League, we are excited to see the future where adolescents from 17 regions of the country are working together in ensuring their rights for meaningful and ethical children participation.
