Water Alliance

The Water Alliance is a multisectoral partnership platform established by concerned business leaders that is committed to help create solutions and contribute to government efforts in solving water security issues in the country. It has two specific directives: make the whole country aware of the water crises, and identify and implement company-wide and collective measures that each one can do to help address the problem. Since its launch, the Water Alliance has had participation and support from more than 50 members representing the business sector, government, civil society, the academe, and committed individuals. Its meetings are venues to update members on the state of water security, analyze current issues, discuss essential policy reforms, and share best practices. Water Alliance was launched in October 2015, and currently chaired by Mr. Francis Giles B. Puno, President and CEO of First Gen Corporation. The Alliance has four action agendas, to enable significant involvement in the entire membership in various task-based committees that will do the ground work in the areas of strategic importance, these are Water for Waterless led by Ms. Cecile Alcantara, President of Coca-Cola Philippines Foundation; Water Efficiency, led by Mr. Rodora Gamboa, Executive Director of Maynilad Water Academy; Governance and Policy Reform, led by Mr. Ramon Alikpala, Water Governance Expert; and Water Research and Database, led by Br. Armin Luistro
