Brief Description
Transform aims to build the capacities of families living in ultra-poverty. Since poverty is a multi-dimensional issue, interventions must also have multi-dimensional approaches addressing not only physical, but also the psychosocial needs of participants. Transform is a four-month program that integrates training in sustained livelihoods, health, and early childhood and family life development (ECFLD) with values education and community building. A core aspect of the Transform program is to raise and support local leaders to serve as champions for the four learning verticals. At the end of the 4-month program, leaders are raised for livelihood (savings group or SG leaders), health (Community Health Champions), and ECFLD (Family Academy coaches / education paraprofessionals). These local leaders are continuously engaged by ICM to help sustain and expand outcomes long after the completion of the Transform program. (See Prevail, Flourish, Family Academy). ICM delivers the Transform program with radical cost-efficiency by working with local leaders and volunteers (See Thrive). At present, the core costs of the Transform program is delivered at PHP 5000/family for the full intervention, allowing ICM to serve over 40,000 unique households each year.
