Brief Description
Thrive is a wide-reaching network of local pastors who share ICM’s mission to serve the poor. These partner pastors live among the very communities ICM seeks to reach – in remote mountain villages, coastal fishing communities, and urban slums. Often very poor themselves, these pastors lack the needed resources to meet the tangible needs of those they serve. They are, however, trusted leaders and members of the community. Thrive serves as a recruitment and vetting mechanism for Transform program holders. Pastors who have successfully applied as Transform program holders provide high-value support in the performance of the following activities: 1) Helping identify the poorest families in the community (validated using a poverty scorecard), 2) Facilitating the community’s orientation to the program, 3) Providing a venue for the Transform trainings, 4) Recruiting community volunteers for small group follow-ups, and 5) Assisting ICM trainers and enumerators for house to house visits (for pre- and post-program data gathering). It is this partnership that makes it possible for ICM to implement Transform at high scalability, serving about 250,000 unique individuals from extremely poor communities every year.
