Brief Description
From 2018-2020, CMA engaged with local partners and migrant organizations to implement the 1st cycle of the project partnership with AWO International. The 1st cycle project entitled, Strengthening Capacities for the Rights of Migrant Domestic Workers and their Families, was able to reach several of its goals and had successfully established networks and partnerships with local migrant organizations, local government units, regional government agencies, etc. The project was able to: - Strengthen CMA presence in the communities (social preparation); - Forge partnership with LGUs, RGAs and other support groups; - Establish Migrant helpdesks in 17 OFW helpdesks in barangay, city, municipality and provincial levels; - Engagement in the formulation of policies both at the local and national level (i.e. establishments of CMD, MRC, Planning of Plans and Programs); - Engagement with policy makers and bodies to put forward the agenda of migrants and their families; - Evidence based advocacy works through its education and research; - Facilitated cases of distressed migrant workers; - Capacitated local partners in terms of rights and build their capacity to engage with LGUs and policy makers
