RTI - Support to Smart Schools in a Bag

The Smart School-in-a-Bag Program is one of Smart’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in the field of education with a goal of bringing inclusive education even to the most remote public schools in the country without access to electricity or connectivity, using technology. The bag and its contents of digital devices and pre-loaded interactive content were custom-designed by Smart as a portable digital laboratory to cater to both formal and non-formal schools in rural areas with challenging terrain. The carrying case was fashioned as a backpack to allow the teacher to carry it from one area to the next. For communities without electricity, the package comes with a solar panel and battery to facilitate charging of equipment. On-site trainings are conducted to teachers on setting up and proper use of the School-in-a-Bag, run through of the content included in the package, briefing on cyber security and safety, and the use of FrontLearner’s TeachAid K-12 content.
