Brief Description
In 2016, ECOP was identified by the ILO as one of its implementing partners in its new project entitled Building A Generation of Safe and Healthy Workers or the SafeYouth@Work Project. The project recognizes the importance of enhancing national capacities to monitor and enforce OSH laws and regulations, particularly those relevant to young workers. In this regard, ECOP has designed a training programme on OSH promotion for micro-, small, and medium enterprises. It is expected that the training programme will give focus on enterprises in manufacturing, construction and agriculture and will focus on OSH topics that underscore the benefits of OSH compliance such as its positive links to productivity, profitability and business sustainability and the relevance of focusing on OSH for young workers as a business human resource development strategy. It is also expected that the training will equip the participants with the skills to organize OSH training programmes targeting micro-, small and medium enterprises particularly those employing large numbers of young workers.
