Transform alumni communities need sustained support for health and well-being because an ultra-poor family’s savings can be wiped out with just one major illness. Flourish provides this through Community Health Champions (CHCs) who are trained to support six health issues: 1) Community Management of Acute Malnutrition in Infants (CMAMI) 2) Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI) 3) Malnutrition 4) Safe Pregnancies 5) Family Planning 6) Tuberculosis Timely management of these health issues can prevent more debilitating and costly illnesses. For infants and young children, good nutrition and health ensures better cognitive and physical development. ICM currently supports a network of 1,200+ CHCs providing ongoing health education and support to nearly 120,000 unique individuals.
