Brief Description
Farmers Grow is a multi-stakeholder project jointly implemented by Nestle Philippines, Inc., Yara Fertilizers, Inc., Philippine Business for Social Progress, and the Philippines Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture (PPSA). This pilot project focuses on helping improve the farmers’ agricultural practices and supporting the technical needs of the members of farmer cooperatives through the collective impact or multi-stakeholder partnerships approach. This is undertaken by bringing in the collective expertise of various organizations to help address the gaps and challenges in the identified community. Overall, the project intends to support the community members and enable them to engage in a more competitive market with bigger market players. Initially, it aims to pilot the proper farming maintenance towards healthy plant growth, leading to best possible yields and profits for farmers, while cultivating soil for greater productivity and environmental sustainability. The Farmers Grow was conceptualized in January 2022, while the actual project implementation kicked off in July 2022. It is being implemented in New Eden, Pangantucan, Bukidnon, covering at least ten (10) and a maximum of fifty four (54) coffee and vegetable farmers.
