Climate-smart agriculture (via Home & Backyard Gardening)

FH also trains parents (specifically parents/caregivers of FH-sponsored children) and community members on home & backyard gardening so their household gains an additional source of food and by learning with organic agriculture, which FH promotes, families can contribute to environmental sustainability. FH, in partnership with municipal agriculture agencies, provides two-day training on home gardening to teach households about the importance of food production, as well as techniques that they can adopt at home. To help participants start their gardens, FH provides start up kits, which contain seeds, tools and other inputs. As participants maintain their gardens in the months following the training, FH and its municipal partners will provide support where needed.
