Brief Description

The Climate Change Facilities in the Philippines (CCFP) is a three-year project in partnership with arche noVa of Germany and through the funding of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The CCFP supported 10,000 individuals in 13 barangays within the Municipality of Marabut, Samar. Its goal was to increase the resilience of rural communities against the consequences of climate change. Achievements included the rehabilitation of the Tinabanan Cave as an evacuation site, construction of community evacuation centers with sanitation facilities, mangrove planting and training activities, and DRR capacity building workshops. These combined efforts helped protect Marabut's vulnerable communities along the seashore, reduced soil erosion, and prevented flooding from storms.
